A Huge Increase in College Voters for 2018 Midterm Elections

This year, the number of college voters who participated in the midterm elections increased dramatically.

CIRCLE, which stands for The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, researches the involvement of young voters in elections. The Center has reported a 10% increase in the number of college voters in the most recent midterm elections, increasing from 21% during the 2014 midterm elections, to 31% of eligible young voters who went to the polls in 2018.

Another interesting trend among youth voters is that the gap between the number of Democratic votes and Republican votes increased drastically in the favor of the Democratic party.
